With Cinco de Mayo right around the corner everyone is looking for the perfectly ripened avocados at the grocery. And there's a pretty good chance that all the good ones will be gone when you get to the store! Not to worry ... if you only find firm and really green avocados you can speed up the ripening process by placing the avocados in a closed paper bag and storing it at room temperature. Depending on how firm and green your avocado started this ripening process may take a couple of hours to a day or so. It really works, I promise!

Great tip! My grocery store never seems to have ripe avocados, and I never seem to remember to buy them enough in advance to let them ripen. This is a perfect solution.
